Get energy smart with a Power-Mate and cut your bills
Published Monday, 4th October 2021
Worried about your latest electricity bill? Did you know that you can measure and track the power consumption of electrical appliances and devices in your home?
Drop into any City of Wanneroo library and borrow a Power-Mate smart energy meter to monitor your household’s electricity usage, discover how you can reduce energy consumption…and save money!
Home energy meters can help you determine which of your appliances are responsible for guzzling the most energy. They do this by calculating power use and running costs as well as greenhouse gas emissions. Measurements can be projected per hour, quarter or even over the year.
All you have to do is plug the Power-Mate into an outlet, turn on the power outlet and plug your appliance into the meter.
You can go through all the appliances in your home to identify power-hungry gadgets and work out an energy saving scheme to suit your household.
