Australia Day awards
Do you know of someone who works hard for the City of Wanneroo community? Say thank you, by nominating them for a City of Wanneroo Australia Day Award.
These annual awards aim to recognise and thank people who have made a significant contribution to the City of Wanneroo community.
Award Categories
- City of Wanneroo Charles Searson Youth Award, presented to an individual under 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
- City of Wanneroo Australia Day Award, presented to an individual over 25 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
- City of Wanneroo Australia Day Community Group or Event Award, presented to an outstanding local community group or event.
- City of Wanneroo Senior Award, presented to an individual over 65 years of age who has made outstanding contributions and/or has made a longstanding commitment to the local community.
Selection Criteria
Nominations should highlight the following qualities:
- Nominee makes a significant positive contribution to the local community.
- Nominee possesses leadership qualities.
- Nominee is an active member of the local community.
- Nominee is committed to enhancing the local community.
How to nominate
Nominations close Friday 8 November 2024
Nominate a community member for an Australia Day Award by completing an online nomination form, or by downloading a hard copy form and submitting it in-person or via mail to the City of Wanneroo.

Eligibility criteria
Nominees need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must be a resident of the City of Wanneroo, have coordinated a community event within the City, or be a member of a community group whose principal activities are conducted within the City.
- Only one person (not a couple or group) may be nominated for individual categories.
- Local government councillors and state and federal politicians are not eligible for nomination.
