Do I need approval? |
Planning Approval (also referred to as Development Approval) is not required for swimming pools proposed in a residential zoned area. For swimming pools proposed in any other zone, planning approval is required. Should it be required, planning approval must be obtained prior to a building permit being issued. A Building Permit is required prior to the construction of any swimming pool/spa that will contain more than 300mm (30cm) depth of water. Inspections - All swimming pool and spa safety barriers must be inspected by the City’s Swimming Pool Inspector prior to filling with water. An inspection can be arranged by calling 9405 5000. Failure to do so is an offence and can result in an infringement and prosecution. Please refer to Pool Safety - City of Wanneroo for further information relating to the City’s inspection process. |
