Proposed Additions to Education Establishment (Yanchep Lagoon Primary School) - Lot 14394 (15) Primary Road, Yanchep - DA2019/386

Public comment is invited on the above-mentioned proposal for additions to the Yanchep Lagoon Primary School located at Lot 14394 (15) Primary Road, Yanchep.

The application will be assessed by the Department of Finance as it is public works at a public school site and be determined by the Metro North-West JDAP.  While the City is not responsible for the assessment or determination of the application,  the application has been advertised to the surrounding landowners to ensure the community is informed of the intended works and is able to make comment on the proposal. All submissions received will be forwarded to the Department of Finance to assist in their assessment of the application and to inform the determination of the application by the Metro North-West JDAP.  

The proposal incorporates demolition of some structures and the following new works: 

STAGE ONE

• New Kindy / Pre-Primary block
• Teaching Blocks 2 and 3;
• New Carpark to Kindy / Pre-Primary Block;
• New student drop off and parking;
• Bike rack;
• Service road to the oval;
• New bus bay and on street parking to Primary Road and Lagoon Drive; and
• Landscaping and infrastructure to these areas

STAGE TWO

• Library;
• Covered Assembly;
• Bird cage;
• New staff car park;
• New visitor parking; and
• All associated landscaping and infrastructure

The City is advised that the School will continue to operate its normal school hours from 8.45am to 3.10pm during school terms.

Following conclusion of the consultation period the submissions received and the City’s comments will be forwarded to the Department of Finance who are responsible for preparing a report the Metro North-West JDAP who will then determine the application.
